Hello, I'm Claire
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Paris, France.
A couple of years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many relocation stories, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
We faced culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Auric Brook Line
Most online information was either corporate-level relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in France goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Claire
